Full Review
A climbing harness is literally your lifeline, so trust matters. The VerticalEdge Pro Harness earns ours through thoughtful design and reliable construction. At 380g, it is light enough for sport climbing redpoints but padded enough for full days at the crag. The 4 rigid gear loops are perfectly positioned — they stay open for easy clipping and do not interfere with your pack. During a test session at Red Rocks, the breathable mesh lining proved its worth on a 90°F day; other climbers were complaining about sweaty backs while we stayed reasonably comfortable. The self-locking waist buckle is a nice safety touch, eliminating the rare but real risk of the buckle flipping under load. The harness does require a break-in period — the first few sessions felt stiff, but after a week of use the foam conformed nicely. Not recommended for alpine climbing (no ice clipper slots), but for sport and gym climbing it is excellent.
